Jyotsna Umesh

I am a watercolor artist. Painting is a form of meditation for me. I love watching colors mingle and bleed into each other, creating moments I could never completely plan. This medium is most rewarding, transparent and asks life skills such as patience, humility and let go of ego. When I paint, I really don’t paint, I let the medium take over the control.

My Journey

I am a self-taught artist, am a computer engineer by profession and artist by heart. My watercolor journey began in 2016 with no formal art training – just a desire to learn & paint. Over the years that journey has taken my work from these early beginnings to being selected and displayed in more than 40 exhibitions.

One of the most rewarding part of this journey has been sharing my love of art through free art programs at local libraries, where I have had the opportunity to teach and inspire more than 5,000 people.
